Two new HD PVR's

HDPVR-GE
Hauppauge has announced two brand new HD PVRs at CES this year, with the HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition Plus and HD PVR 2 Model 1512.

The HD PVR 2 Model 1512 is an HD video recorder that is being targetted at the home media users, allowing for easy transfer of cable TV or satellite TV programs to a PC or laptop.  The device also has an IR blaster for controlling the channel changing directly from the PVR.  It will come with component cables and a USB cable while also being bundled with the Hauppauge WinTV v7.2 app that is compatible with Windows Media Center in both Windows 7 and Windows 8.

The HD PVR 2 GE Plus model adds optical input for surround sound audio recording that is compatible with the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, where a SPDIF port is present.  The unit will also have full surround sound audio pass-through which means you can connect it between your console and surround sound receiver and still get the full surround sound decoding.  The HD PVR 2 GE Plus comes with Hauppauge’s StreamEez video streaming application that lets you stream your gaming onto Justin.TV and U-Stream.

Both new models will be available beginning Feb. 1.
